Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the BeerHandshake mobile application and the website at beercup.app. By installing, creating an account, or using the service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
1. What BeerHandshake is
BeerHandshake is a humorous social app for sports fans. You make playful predictions on match scores with friends or at venues, see who guessed right, and enjoy friendly competition.
- The service is not a bookmaker, casino, lottery, or real-money game.
- There are no cash wagers, virtual currency prizes from us, or payouts.
- “Predictions”, “picks”, and “beer glasses” are jokes and in-app labels only — fun scores, not bets.
- Nothing in the App creates debts, contracts, or legal obligations to anyone to buy, serve, drink, or pay for alcohol or anything else.
- Any banter off-app is between you and your friends — we are not a party to it.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding agreement under your local law. You are responsible for complying with laws in your country (including alcohol-related laws). The beer theme is symbolic humor for adults and fans — not an offer or promotion of alcohol consumption.
3. Account
Sign-in via Google or Apple is required. You agree to:
- keep your account secure and not share access;
- use accurate profile data from your provider;
- notify us promptly of unauthorized access at privacy@beercup.app.
4. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use the service for illegal purposes or harassment;
- bypass technical limits (e.g. pick lock time);
- use bots or multiple accounts for unfair advantage;
- post offensive or illegal content in your display name or avatar;
- imply affiliation with FIFA or other rights holders without permission.
5. Rooms and playful picks
By using rooms and predictions you accept the App’s game logic, including:
- one pick per user per room;
- picks lock after kick-off + 5 minutes (server-enforced);
- at most one Individual and one Business room per match per user;
- in-app “scores” when someone guesses better — for entertainment display only.
Live scores may be delayed. Final fun results are calculated on our servers when a match is marked finished.
6. Push notifications
We may send service notifications (e.g. picks locked, match finished). You control permission in device settings. See our Privacy Policy for token handling.
7. Intellectual property
The App, Site, BeerHandshake name, and related materials belong to the Operator or licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license for personal non-commercial use.
8. Disclaimer of warranties & liability
The service is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:
- offline behavior or disputes between users or venues;
- any assumption that in-app labels imply real-world obligations;
- outages, data loss, or third-party service failures (Google, Apple, Firebase, sports data APIs);
- indirect or consequential damages.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to amounts you paid us in the last 12 months (currently zero — the App is free).
9. Suspension & termination
We may suspend access for Terms violations. You may stop using the App anytime and delete your account under Settings → Delete account.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms. Continued use after posting a new version means acceptance where allowed by law. Material changes will be highlighted in the App or on the Site.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the Operator’s country of residence as an individual. Disputes shall be resolved in courts with jurisdiction over the Operator, unless mandatory consumer protections in your country require otherwise.
